Seeking advice on acquiring software

I'd like to become more experienced in windows server, microsoft exchange, virtual/remote computing, file serving, restricting access to specific users and im sure a lot more.

To do this I need some software, I remember reading sometime ago about microsoft offering something reasonably priced to use their software without the ability to resell it.

Anyone able to help me out?

Are you refering to technet? It allows you to evaluate the software.

Ya, that's technet. Although you should be able to download evaluation versions of the software in question.

If there is a community college near you that is a microsoft msdnaa member, I recommend finding a class that interests you, and suffer through it. The perks of an msdnaa account (and in my case learning) are worth it.
