Anyone who purchased a newer Abit mobo are at least indirectly and/or relatively familiar with these usb keys that are supposed to lock your IDE devices. My question is... Can these be haxored to do any other functions aside from locking your IDE devices??

Yeah, yes what?

Yes, I know about them

or

Yes, they can be h@x0r'd

or

Yes, they can be used for other things

or

Yes, combination of two or more of the above. In this case please specify which.

A suggestion; maybe if you could elaborate what "other functions" you had in mind, you'd get some responses with some content rather than one liners.

I didn't want to be too specific really. As I dont really know much about them..

I wanted to know if anyone has heard of people modding/hacking these somehow to do ANY other function. Its a cool little toy, but if it could do something else, even better. :)

I was just wondering why someone would take the time, and the bump, to write "yes," without any helpful insight. /?

No offense, but ambiguous questions will usually get ambiguous answers. That's not an excuse for junk posts (right, pr0pensity...??), but it's the way it sometimes happens.

As this has gone far off topic in a non-productive way, I'm going to lock it. If you could refine your question a little and maybe even do a little looking into what can and can't be done with a USB key, please try again.

Thanks - B.B.S.
