Secure Connect Cable?

Ok..heres probably a stupid question..I have the blue secure connect cable that came with my 76g raptor drive..on one end is the regular sata plug, on the other end is a 2 inch big black plug that covers both the Serial ATA power port and the Serial ata data port. In the manual it specifically says to NOT connect the serial ata power port with a legacy ata power(molex) to the drive as it will damage it. The blue cable plugs into the power port..what do i do as the drive is not powering on? right now im using a normal serial ata plug with a regular molex connecter off my psu and drive works fine..moment i unplug the molex and plug the secure connect plug..no power, does this cable not power it? if not then why does it cover the serial power port??
 
Ignore this post..I fixed it..second problem arose tho

the Western Digital website lets you download a disk setup program that in the program lets you setup the drive as "additional storage" or "the new boot drive". If i go to boot drive it does a DRIVE-to-DRIVE copy of my 250g ONTO the 76g..now everything worked perfectly..the copying etc..but in the bios i now have it to boot to scsi yet it STILL boots to my 250g

?!?!????????
 
review your BIOS options, likely your looking for something like Bus Manager

Ok..someone told me i gotta disconnect all the drives on my pc, then install windows on the raptor by itself..thing is tho..I boot the windows cd..windows does not detect my scsi adapters..so i reboot then hit f6 to specify one, it then asks for a disk.. i dont have a floppy drive, never have, never saw a need for it..plus this drive didnt come with any setup/install cd..there has got to be a way to install windows on this drive other than going out to buy a floppy drive and cable to use it once..which is just plain stupid..
 
if you have cloned the drive
and you had installed the SATA driver before you cloned the drive...


FDD arent dead yet, if you feel you must do without
either use the flash drive (if the BIOS supports that)
or slipstream the driver into the CD install

but as I pointed out earlier, if the driver is installed to the OS
there is typically a BIOS option that enables the ATA bus to enmploy either or both drive in the scan order, many are set by default to scan both, others arent
if the driver is installed to the OS, just remove the first PATA HDD and see if it boots
 
I did remove the other drives..boots for about half a second then instantly reboots my pc..now without a floppy drive am i screwed? there has got to be another way to get windows on this drive...
 
clone from a PATA with the SATA driver installed

slipstream the driver onto the install
 
what do you mean? i have the sata driver installed, and i did clone my 250g pata drive but upon boot of JUST the raptor hd, it rebooted itself..not sure what you mean about slipstreaming it..
