I was recomended to have a secondary HD for my gaming system. What would be the benefit for that? That the OS should be the main drive and all games should be on the secondary HD? Or you guys can help me How should I set up my PC with the HD's. I do have an extra 160GB sata with me. THANKS

The only benefit you would get is you would have all your files on one drive, and games on another. Games are about 8 GB.

Games are about 8 GB.

:confused: 8GB? My steam install with 4 installed takes up 16GB, an avg game today takes about 3-4GB just for that game. I run Vista off a raptor and my games off a second raptor just for space reasons as they are only 74gb. :)

At the very least you could put the Windows swap file on the second hard drive. That'll speed up the hard drive caching and help game/level load time a bit.

they probably meant to recommend having a primary OS drive that's low capacity / high speed (ex: raptor), with a limited amount/most played games, & a bigger HD for everything else (music, videos, other games you have but may not play often).....

I run a 150GB Raptor for boot and moved my games to 2 x 74GB raptors in Raid-0..... sure noticed a difference in load times and also streaming textures like in Crysis :) All my data is on extra internal and external drives (eSATA)
