Second time this has come around.

anyone know a good 80mm fan which could be installed here which is a little quieter at higher RPM

I'd like to know that as well. I've read hundreds of reviews from different sites on this kit, and about 95% say this kit is fantastic for 200.00 - let alone 26 bucks. Every review from each site is impressive, even the hardcore watercooling guys find it to be a good kit even with the 200.00 msrp. From what I've been able to gather the only less than desirable points are the stock tubing is excessively stiff, and the fan is loud at the highest setting... but seriously what kind of complaints are those in respect to it's functionality... and on several temp benchmarks, it walked the competition.

Interesting...what was the original fan used in the Aquagate? Just wondering if a silent fan which only moves ~20-30CFM will be sufficient.

I also just placed my order.

I hope it goes through, though! I haven't looked at the back of my debit card lately and the stupid CVV2 code is almost completely rubbed off. I can make out the first digit and can see the imprint (but no ink) of the last. The middle one had like half an imprint, so I had to guess

Anywho, I also want to order an extra radiator.

Do you have to add more fluid to the system once the additional radiator is installed?

I imagine it comes with extra coolant, but if you need more, you can always dilute it with distilled water (found at your local grocery/drug store)

Yes this cooler is very good. It's quiet and its performance is very good. I'm idling at around 33C and my load is around 46C.

Sadly, I missed the SVC deal and was happy to find this thread...until I went to the egg: OOS :(

I'm ticked at the idiot who waited til the last day to orde.... crap! that was me.

oh well, think they'll get more in by midnight? [yeah, right!]

i'm kinda glad its out, i was coming back to check it out for the ultra microfly case i bought off frys for cheap, its hard to fit a good hsf on the cpu due to lack of space, so this would be nice. atleast i'm saving money now!!

Mine came in today... good god the fan on highest setting sounds like a hurricane.

Interestingly enough though, I notice very little difference in temps between lowest setting and highest setting (4-5 degrees C, but that's not enough to justify having a wind tunnel sound coming from your computer :p) when running orthos.

Anyways, e4300 machine is back up and running after about an hour of downtime while I installed this. Can't say temps are really much better than they were with my zalman 9500 + loud 120mm fan in front (taking up a couple of drive bays since this is a folding computer and I don' tcare what it looks like), but at least it's WAY quieter than that old setup was :)

got mine today too, very impressed.

ps. rebate was only good through today....interesting they are "out of stock" the same day the rebate expires

What processor are you using @ what speed? Is it worth or not?
I am on a Opteron 165 at 2.7GHz and 1.4v, and since I used the $15 paypal rebate, bring the cost down to $11, there is nothing that can beat it for that price (or for $26). And since I am using a SFF microfly, I can't use any of the big huge coolers, so this is a very good deal IMO. I bought this the first day the sale started and I got it 2 days later. As I am typing this rite now, I'm at 27C (one of the colder days today)

If you missed the deal, don't worry SVC runs almost the same deal every couple of weeks or so...

yeah got mine today, great looking kit, heavy damn box, whew! 15lbs!

can't wait to use it... likes real purdy.

That is true , SVC has ran this before for about the same price. All you have to do is watch for the rebate to make it a nice deal. I should have my Second unit finished and online by this weekend for gpu cooling. If you want to save yourself some trouble buy some different tubing. This tubing is very stiff to make bends with.

Couple of pics for anyone that wanted to see the water block. As you can see, mounting it internally adds a whole slew of cables to the inside of the case. I guess I've got some more cable routing to do now, but this is what it looks like as of now.

I purposely left my water lines extra long so that I can pull the unit out the front all the way should I ever need to drain/add to the resevoir or change fans or anything. Would look neater if the lines were shorter, but would be a holy terror to have to do any filling/draining/etc.

EDIT: Yes I know my HR-05 is crooked... the mounting holes for the northbridge on a DS3 are angled in such a way that I have no choice :p

I got one!! Stopped at Microcenter and found an open box thermaltake sonic tower for $30 but i can use that on anoher pc. This is going on my 805 furnace.

I wonder if this would cool better on its "low" setting than my Ninja.

Got a fan on the ninja? If so, probly not.

The OP said he had good results, but mine on the e4300 is giving me about the same temps as my zalman 9500 had. Granted, I had MAD case flow in that thing (talking about a ~70+cfm fan zip tied into the bottom three drivebays chugging air into the case and right into the intake of the 9500), but the ninja is a better cooler than the 9500 to begin with if you've got a fan on it.

Kinda hard to say for sure :(

It's only got a 80mm radiator so it's cooling capacity is somewhat limited IMO. Could add an external radiator sure, but that kind of defeats the purpose of buying a self contained unit then, again IMO. Either way, it meets my needs, same cooling as my previous setup, but without the whirlwind sound. The middle fan setting still isn't very loud. The only LOUD setting is the high one. The three settings are analogous to someone exhaling, someone giving a large sigh, and then someone coughing. :p

Doubtful. The system only has 1/4" inner-diameter tubing and, since it's enclosed in that fairly small case, I'd assume a kinda small pump. It's definitely what you'd call a low flow system, vs the 3/8" and 1/2" ID tubings in the DIY setups you see in the water cooling forum.

Kinda depends on the setup... my e4300 is OC'ed to 3ghz, that's a 67% overclock.. stock would probly run a lot cooler... video cards typically make a lot of heat though, so my final answer would be no.

I really think it was designed as a non-entusiast type setup, sort of "plug and play" if you will. It's handling my 3ghz e4300 just fine running SMP folding at home (both cores at 75-85% at all times), so it's obviously got cooling capabilities, but I don't think they were looking past just a CPU when they designed it. At the very most I'd say maybe you could add a northbridge, as they don't typically contribute much heat to the system anyway. Video card, I'd definitely stay away from... or add another radiator, but I don't know if the pump could actually support the addition of another block and radiator.

I don't know if the pump could actually support the addition of another block and radiator.
Many others with this system have added a Thermaltake 120mm radiator to the loop, so that much it can handle:p It probably can handle it with a GPU waterblock too

Ahh, wasn't aware of that, so touche... :p

This is actually my first time messing with water cooling. I've done a ton of reading on it, but in the end, air cooling always seemed to provide me with more than enough cooling... I just made some assumptions on this setup based solely on my observations :)

The resevoir is actually quite a bit bigger than one would think too, it took me almost the entire bottle of coolant to fill the tank plus the lines.

I've just been struck with an idea!

I should get an extra radiator and mount it on top of my Nine Hundred case. Right above the 20 cm fan :)

Can you guys please post some more pictures, i mean the actual size, and the look from front and back etc.

Thanx.

There are too many wires, you have to connect, and it need AC power source then DC.

I bit on it...bought it.

Don't really think it's going to help temps that much (9500 (The black nvidia version) on a P4E 2.8), but hopefully quieter (going to turn down all the fans). First water-cooling system ever for me too! Should be funsies.

What radiator should I look into getting for this? Heard a Thermaltake mentioned...wonder where I can mount that on an Antec 900.

waltherone:

are you using the fully stock system or did you upgrade the tubes or anything?

I just bit, hopefully this will cool down my SFF microfly case with the D 805 folding on both cores. its running 60-65C so anything will help bring those temps down a little.

If this had come around earlier, I would have bit, but I already got a Sunbeam Tuniq Tower 120.

This is a pretty good deal.

ah good luck. its always tough taking your main rig into surgery. i'm going to be putting this cooler into one of my many server boxen. Good luck and hope to see you on the other side with 10C less core temps.
