Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I think he means the SATA plug line direction. Generally, they're oriented so that when you plug the first plug in the line, the second plug will be above it.
No, I don't think any good power supply does it in the opposite orientation. Either run the line to the bottom of the cage and then up if it's long enough, or use multiple cables. Or you can try to make your own custom cables.
My Corsair 650 Pro does and it's "good", maybe their top line AX does too?
Yes, orientation was what I was talking about and with a Seasonic you have to bring the line down to the bottom of the cage and then back up, looks dumb and the power leads are not that long, even in a mid tower.
Sure top mount cases are now rare so most current PSU's won't be aligned that way.
Modular though the manufacturer could throw in the correct orientation as as noted you almost have to make your own.
True, the HX650 has been out for awhile, myself I've only had it for maybe 2 years to replace a HX520 with a blown fan.
In that sense that model line might be the last good quality designed for top mounting.
Manufacturers never specify this.
The issue, I don't need anywhere near 650 watts for a simple haswell system with onboard graphics.
Possible the lower end CXM line would suffice but reviews show the innards are medium to low grade, hence the cheap price.
