I bought a Seasonic M12 about a year ago, the psu itself is nice and all but the 120m fan that comes with it is starting to make some noise that is really annoying. Is it possible to replace the fan, do i have to buy a new psu, can i reduce the fan speed. What should i do?

thx.

You can replace the fan.
If you check the fan it will have a power rating something like 0.1W.
Get a same size fan rated at the same power, that will be fine.
(note that the fan depth might matter too if a fatter fan wont fit inside the PSU)
You can also use a fan rated higher in power but it may be louder.
Lower in power, you take a risk that it might not shift enough air to keep the PSU cool but there are some more efficient fans so it isnt black and white.
Positive case air pressure will aid a lower power fan.

You are still under warranty, I am pretty sure that Seasonic will want to RMA and who knows what great things might happen.
Of course if you open the unit, your warranty is void.

Just RMA the thing. You can get it replaced for free, so there's no point in voiding your warranty for it.

ya i was looking for another option beside that really since i dont have another psu and i need my computer running 24/7 basically for the work i do.

If your computer is that important, then you need redundancy, another complete system would be best, but critical extra parts is a good way to start. :D
