I have

  • i7 2700k @ 4.5 Ghz on 1.3V
  • 2 7970 3Gb reference running @1100/1400
  • 1 DVDRW drive
  • 1 1TB HDD
  • 1 Crucial M4 SSD
  • 4 200 mm coolermaster fans
  • H100 pushpull with 4 fans

I recently had a 1200 watt Antec in there but I'm diverting it for a mining setup. I have an old pc with a Seasonic M12D 750W PSU in there which still works great and was wondering would it be adequate for my system? If I don't overclock my GPUs would it be enough? Thanks.

I have the exact same power supply pushing a 6990 and i7 920 @ 4 ghz with a full watercooling setup. It's more than sufficient.

great psu ! im running it on my spare rig with a similar set up as yours .. its more than enough..

Yep, should be fine. The new 7000 series cards are really efficient when it comes to power consumption. Two 7970s should even have more headroom than Tsumis 6990

With current CPU speed and no over clocking on the 7970s I think you are safe.

7970 only draws 150-180 w under 100% load according to gpu VRM, to be safe, we can budget 200w each. Rest of system is only about 150w tops again budget 200w to be safe. So your 750w is more then enough i would think.
