It was pretty fricking cold here on Thurdsay

2C to be exact

So I took my comp outside |Abit AV8 3rd Eye|3500+|BFG 6800GT|1GB Corsair XMS 2-2-2-10-1T|

Hit a pretty stable OC @ 220x11 but stupid MB shows temps at 37C?! Impossible with that kind of ambient. The 6800 was able to hit 439/1.2.

This AV8 has had temp reading problems since day 1. I have upgraded to every new BIOS that comes out and it still shows crazy high temps. I am idling at 47C and load is 68C; no way that is right. There are a bunch of other AV8 owners out there with the same problem, I guess it's pretty common with this board. Hell I just noticed that in my last pic it even has the ambient wrong. A board with a temp monitor that ALWAYS shows incorrect temps.
Great job ABIT.

I'd say something is up, temp in my apt is roughly 70f, and mine (3200+ Newcastle@210x11) idles at 31C, loads at 42C. @220x11 it idles 34C, max 44C.

all air (MCX6400V w/ 92mm vornado running 3000rpm, no vMod)

guess that BTX layout isn't helping as much as everybody would like to believe...or something is up with your setup

We were at a lan and it had snowed. My friend got the great idea to move a table close to the door and stick his computer outside and oc. So he cranked it up pretty high and it was runnin cool but his harddrive died ... My stories suck

My KV8 Pro had the same problem, but my temps were sky-high. Idleing in the 50s, temp sensors would go off after heavy gaming sessions. Simple BIOS update fixed it.

That sounds like it was pretty fun, I remember someone did that extreme P4 overclock a while back in a garage in Alaska and it was freakin freezing as well...

I've done this a couple times in the past too. Minnesota here.

Lowest ambient I've ever seen was 11C I think. My comp. sits right next to a window so it helps.

It's about the only good thing living in the frozen ass north.

I'm envious of you and your snow lol. Its summer in Aus, pulling 38C days here so i had to declock my p4 back to stock (was at 3.5 5:4) :p

i like keep my room around 50-60F regardless of season :p i like the cold.. i wear t-shirts year round and go outside with nothing but jeans and a t-shirt on(yep.. no shoes or socks...)
all year round my family never goes into my room because its too cold for them :D :p
cpu runs at about 75f idle and 85-90f load when i got it nice n cold , maybe durring christmass break ill open up all the windows in my room and see how high i can get it

what really sucks about it all is you have to either turn up your fans or lower your overclock when you transport your pc to a warmer climate
