Does anybody know where to get ahold of a fuse for a Vantec Stealth 520w Power Supply? It is one of those really small fuses...I don't know the exact dimensions or the type of fuse it is, but it has a current rating of 10 amps. The original fuse blew for an unknown reason - I just woke up to my computer being off. I doubt there is some kind of permanent fault though.

I've searched all of the electronics stores in my area, but the current capacities of all of the dimensionally compatible fuses I've found so far is well below 5 amps. These fuses stood no chance to the start-up current requirements of my machine. I'm now looking to online distributors for my part since apparently a 10 amp fuse in this paticular size is a very rare specialty/OEM item.

I'd like to replace the fuse and see if the PSU still works before spending another $200 on another beefy PSU, because whatever I buy needs to substain a constant 450+ watt load. Apparently this PSU got a bit hot with my dual processors churning away and the dust on its heatsinks...but I think it still has some life left in it.

Any help on this would be appreciated. I'll post pics in a bit after I get them uploaded...

What size is it? From the photo it looks like your everyday 1" x 1/4" glass fuse. Definately a little harder to find than other sizes but by no means impossible.

You might actually check in an auto parts store as this size is actually used in some automotive situations.

I'm stopping by Schucks Auto tomorrow for some diesel additive (and to look for stuff to test the acidity of antifreeze), so I'll remember to have a look at their fuses. But most automotive fuses are rated to 32v, not 120/240v, so I don't think they'll be compatible.

BTW, I've finally measured the fuse and got more information on it... I think it is a 5mm diameter & 20mm length fuse. I think this 10 amp one from Bussmann should work... http://host1.publiquik.com/bussmann_web/family.cgi?familyUid=52

Unfortunately I do not know how to order it, as the Bussmann website does not process any orders.

Anybody have suggestions on where I can order this fuse without needing to buy a lot of 3000+ or minimum orders of $100 worth of product?

No need for a fuse anymore...it's now a hunt for a new Power Supply. :(

Got to find something that can deliver a steady 460+ watts 24x7 for cheap...
