Well my [H] brothers the Fractal Design Define R3 has served me well over the years. With my 7700K on its way it is time for a replacement and with the R5 being about 2 years old and no sign of an impending R6 release I have decided to see what alternatives you guys might suggest.

I am looking for a mid tower with decent build quality and sound dampening like the Define series. Decent thermals are also good and I do prefer the clean cut minimalist style.

What would you guys recommend?

ya, searching for something new myself, but maybe a bit smaller. coming from Silverstone TJ08-E, which has been a fantastic case.

I have the same case currently and also looking for a new case for the upcoming Ryzen build. I am looking to get the Define S.

Fractal Design Define C will likely be my next case, pretty much for same reason, many hours of hunting for the pro and con of I cannot tell you how many choices, the price is right for my pocket, well built, lots of room to work in/with etc...anyways, good luck :)

Fractal Design is my favorite case manufacturer.

If I go with an ITX MB, I am definitely going with a Define Nano S.

But to get a wider range of MB choice I may end up going with Micro ATX.

Then case choice gets murkier for me. The Fractal Define Mini C is my default mATX choice, but at 412mm tall, it isn't very Mini.

Other possabilites are something from Silverstone with the same basic design as the TJ08-E mentioned above.
Like this one:

Basically something a bit smaller than your average mATX case, but with good dust protected intakes that will make for a decent positve pressure with good cooling.
