I think I wouldn't be the first to probably suggest this but could the time be decreased on the search function? 60 seconds is alot in my opinion..most other forums I'm on have it either something like 15 secs or there's no limit to it. I could see why the Reply function is constricted but don't see any reason why the search function should be limited - especially to 1 minute.

Thanks in advance,

Lubomir

It's because of the database queries. The database as it is now has about all it can handle. I would rather have the [H] up and running and wait 60 seconds, rather than have database crashes every day.

Please, think of the databases! :p

You know Major, maybe an update to the FAQ stating that the search timing won't be changed could be helpful. I know there are about a bajillion threads about it, so wouldn't that make it a Frequently Asked Question? :p

I guess if it returns no results you can immdeiate;y search again. I tried using words guranteed to be found then attempted a similiar search right after and your right its universal. But when i searched for gibberish that yielded no results I could immideately search again.

That's interesting. I never realized you could search again immediately if no results were found.

Changed it to 20 seconds. We will see how it goes.

Don't get me wrong, I am all for the shorter search times, but I would rather have [H] be stable than have quicker search times.
something tells me that it'll be fine :D
