Searches don't seem to be working for me searching in the ForSale section.. whenever I search for anything it gives me very old results. Anyone else getting this?

Can you give examples? Just saying weird results doesn't help.

What are you searching for and what results are you getting?

If I try searching for "WTB", I get these results:

Look at the dates. They are much older than more current messages. There can't be only 8 WTB threads since December.

There was another person who had the same problem who posted about this here:
http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1157233

I remember this also happened a long time ago and it seemed like it was fixed later on. I'm running on Firefox 2.0.

I'm running IE7 and get the max of 100 hits per search for 'WTB', it might just be your browser.

**EDIT**
I just switched over to Firefox 2.0.0.1 and get the same results

Actually.. I found out that if I log off of my account and do the search in both IE and Firefox, it works fine. But when I log into my account, I get the messed up search results. Any ideas why it would be different? I didn't think there's any default settings for searches per account that would do that for me.

Also.. I PM'ed the other person who was having this trouble in the other thread.. hopefully he can let us know if he still has the problem also.

That has been a noted problem by several members, but the common thread to the cause hasn't been found. Keep us updated if you come up with any commonalities.

I don't think it was like this 2-3 weeks ago, but I haven't been checking the forums that often unless I'm looking to buy/sell something. Did anything change recently? I remember this happened before also and then the problem disappeared later on.

Same here. "S-B" and I have also confirmed it only works if we log out. That is a common thread between all of us.

Also, the browser doesn't seem to have anything to do with this. I have tried Firefox, IE6, and IE7 on three different ISPs and I've even tried the browsers on my Palm Treo 650. The search only works if I log out. Something is happening on the server side.

I PMd my login information to Kyle and he logged in with my ID and confirmed that the results are wrong.

Hmm.. it's still happening to me. Is there a way you can log into my account and see it yourself?

I made several changes in your User CP, so log out and try search again to see if it has any effect.

Nope.. still the same. :(

It just makes it really annoying when I'm looking for something because I have to log out, search, and then log back in.

btw I have also tested the search on my laptop and I get the same results.
When I log out the search works great.

I'm running IE7.

I think the evidence shows this has nothing to do with our settings.
