I'm looking for a new case for my main rig (see sig). Right now I'm pimping the side panel-less, old ass ATX look :(. I have been searching for a new case to say the least. I have never really modded anything but, im not afraid to get my hands dirty. I would rather someone else do what can be done but, if it can't be done I'd be willing. These are some of the features im looking for.

-Full tower ATX (I want alot of room b/c one day water/TEC cooling is a proably)

-Nice paint job black,grey or blue preferably

-Drive cover door w/ lock

-ALOT of 80mm fan holes, 2 on hdd cage in front ,2 at rear, 1 on top, 1 or 2 on size

-See through side panel w/ locking handle

-Removeable mobo tray would be nice

-I don't really want to pay for a PSU b/c i have one but w/e

I like this case but the giant gay nobs are kind of a turn off.

I also like the thermaltake blue backlit fanbuses on some of their cases, If i could find something like that that would fit behind the drive door or go above like their's that would be cool. Also my mobo glows under UV so i wanna put some black lights in my case. Then i was thinking about using some UV accent paint and making a stencil and putting that on the clear side (not the most orginal idea im sure but ehh). Also overall i want a nice neon Blue glow. If i put blue cathrodes in it will it over power the black lights making the accent text and mobo not show up? I would like to use all vantec tornados for my fans (yes they are loud I'm crazy i know) but i couldn't find any w/ blue led's in them i was wondering is this a hard mod to do? Thats about it im sure i proably can't find a case w/ all the stuff and im not afraid to do alot my self but I'd like to do the least amount of work possible

aspire x-superalien/alien. might work, the mobo tray isnt normal, works by pul out, not slide out, not as good as slide out but works. you ether will love or hate the look though
 
thanx i DO like it. It is al;ong the lines of what im looking for do you think i could find one w/ no PSU?
 
I swear, Thermaltake likes to stick as much shit as they possibly can into a case. Too ugly for me :rolleyes:
 
I was going to suggest any of the Chieftec premod'ed cases that are out there. Usually you can get em without a psu. I have this one for my wifes pc:

Chieftec Dragon Server case

Only bad thing is no removable mobo tray

Yeah thats what i have been looking at mostly but i like the_village_treky's case suggestion it really is growing on me it seems to be the right mix of what i want is the PSU any good or should i use the one i have?

one problem down
 
well what do ya have? and call me treky... lol. the 500 watt ive heard good things about... ofcorse its noware near as good as a antec true or pcpc 500 watt, but it isnt bad. im not shure about the 420 watt.
 
OMG i forgot it wasn't in my sig it is an antec true blue 480. Does any one know the answers to my other questions?
 
i'll proably try both to see if the 500 works good if not i'll use my antec. I think im gonna have the ultimate computer in about 2 monthes. when done ill post alot of pics. But this is what it will be the case i talked about w/ the stuff i want done the same inards as the sys in my sig but w/ a gig of DDR 500 Mushkin in dual channel instead of hyper x. I'm also adding a radeon 9800xt and im gonna cool it w/ a MCW50-T TEC. CPU is gonna have a TEC I'm hoping to overclock to around 3.8ghz. and im gonna swap my 20 gig hdd for a 40. my monitor setup is gonna change also im getting a 19in aperture grill mon. and have my 2 17's on each side also i just got a bad ass mitsubishi SD200U projector that i'm using 4 gaming im gonna put it on a kvm w/ the 19 in mon. although documentation said other wise i run the projector at 1280x1024 @ 85hz. Im also gonna add the logitech mx duo, a HD TV tuner, and i havent decided on sound yet suggestions are welcome.


Does any one know the answer to my case lighting question?

PS that vantec case is sweet. I'd prolly get it if it was out now.

does any one know about that ^?
 
i think vantec makes blue uv cathodes(they come with their fan/ccfl controler, and they aslo seel all the others by themselves, but not blue for some reason, that only coms with the fan controler)
