Seageate 200gb drive

I have a seagate 200GB drive barracuda 7200.7.

It makes random intermintenet buzzing noise like there is a power fluction or something.

Also there is like over 2 million Hardware ECC corrections on this drive, and i got this drive within the past 3 months. Wzup with Seagate?

Could be. Don't blame Seagate though, I have five of those and they're all fine. UPS probably played football with it, that's the most common cause of early HD failure.
 
At the company I work for we dont use Seagates at all, because they just lock up like crazy. We build DVR's So we stress the HDD's to the max, since its always Writing. They are absolute crap.

And to the guy above I'm glad you have 5 that work, you should prolly put it on ebay :D
 
Yeah i know drives can randomly fail and its not really the manufactures fault, but i never heard this noise in my 400sc.

I popped it into my new comp that i built yesterday and now i am hearing it, since its way quieter.

I am running dual xeons now with water cooling, so i only hear HD noise and i noticed it today.

I Think i will backup my data soon and then RMA the drive. Its much louder compared to my raptor that i have in it.

Here is the report from HDTUNE

and i have 3 sector counts reallocated.
Power on hours are only 4041

I noticed everytime it makes the buzzing noise, more seek/rawread/hardware errors occur.

If it IS impending drive failure, this is a run-don't-walk situation if you have anything on there you need and you should be copying it off NOW.
