Well I've added 3HDs to my Raid5 array, at first the HD on channel 8 would drop out of the array while building the array. Thought it was a HD problem and took it out. Now the HD on channel 6 is dropping out. I'm not sure why they are having problems and wondering if anyone can help. I'm using a RocketRaid 2220. I originally had 5 disks in the array with no problems. One thing that I noticed with these new HDs is that revision are different, the original ones are 3.AAC and the new ones are 3.AAK. I have Read Ahead, Write Cached, and NCQ enabled. Sata150 mode. I'm going to go ahead and pull the disk off of channel 6 and see if only adding 1 new disk will work. Any other ideas would be great.

Edit forgot to mention they are all 7200.10 400GB

Had the same problem.

Turns out the problem was lack of power, or more specifically, too many harddrives on one "line". Had 4 HD's running of one molex (That actual line only had 1 molex and 1 floppy connector, so the PSU probably didn't supply a lot of amp to that one)
