Alright. So I'm looking of a hard drive for an external enclosure. I found these two hard drives which looked pretty sweet and afforadble for me.

Maxtor MaXLine™ / 250GB / 7200 / 8MB / ATA-133 / OEM / Hard Drive
-OR-
Seagate 7200.8 / 250GB / 7200 / 8MB / ATA-100 / EIDE / OEM / Hard Drive

What it really comes down to is seek time. Does seek time really make that big of a difference especially in a USB 2.0 Enclosure. I was just wondering which would be the best one to purchase. If there are any other recommends for 250GB+ hard drives.

Also one side question. I can't seem to find an external enclosure that has really stood out and an extremely solid enclosure for between $15-$40.

Thanks for all your help.

I would say the maxtor due to it being less out of pocket and since it's external I don't think you will find seek times to be a big factor. I have a maxtor 200GB in my external drive and I have noticed zero difference between it and my internal 200GB SATA storage drive, well aside from having to turn one of them on.
