I saw on StorageReview a new Seagate 7200.4 750GB which uses Seagate's new 375GB platters which got very nice speeds and a overall good review. What I really need for my laptop is a hybrid version of this drive, maybe even using 8GB instead of the 4GB on the past Momentus XT, and I'd be more than happy to pay $200 for it.

Anyone else know any idea about Seagate's hybrid lines? It seems like a great compromise between speed, response, battery, and space.

The seagate Momentus XT makes a good laptop hard drive with its 4GB read cache. It's in no way comparable to a SSD however a 500 GB SSD would cost over $1000.

I wish there were more options and this technology made its way into desktop hard drives especially 2TB+ Green drives.
