Seagate HD freeze at Post?

Got me a Seagate 40gb hd that seems undetectable by the comp. During Posting it'll freeze in "detecting IDE devices". Can't even press Del and get into the Bios when that happens. I've tried the HD in another computer, same thing occurs. Anyone got any ideas?
 
Nope.. no OC here. I know its probably a dead drive.. but maybe you guys got some other ideas. Oh yeah.. the Drive kinda makes a "bumping" sound too. It is from the drive, not the comp speaker.
