I have a seagate harddrive that is not being recognized. Their is data there but the Vista or xp machines cannot recognize it. I have pictures and video there that I want to get. it was a fat partition, partition manager recognizes the harddrive but cannot open from it. Can anyone help on this matter.

Goto disk management on the xp/vista machine. Is there a drive letter assigned? Can you assign one without formatting/partitioning?

Have you ran check disc? You probably need a drive letter before you can do this :(

What happened to cause it to stop being able to read the drive? Any errors?

It might be time to consider googling for a file recovery tool to see what all it can scan and recover. Sounds like something went terribly wrong.
