Anyone have any experience with the Seagate Archive 8TB drive? The ST8000AS0002 and their reliability in particular?
I bought eight of them because they were so cheap ($209 each) for use in my backup RAID. They will go into a RAID 6, that doesn't need fast writes, for my backup RAID.
I'm extra worried because these particular drives only carry a 2 year warranty from the seller (third party on Amazon), and not a 3 year from Seagate. I've had really shitty luck with Seagate 1TB and 3TB drives (50% failure rate in 3 to 4 years), and I'm really hoping these aren't as shitty for reliability.
