I've considering buying these:

2 each Maxtor 300GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive, Model 6B300S0
Specifications:
Capacity: 300GB
Average Seek Time: 9.3 ms
Buffer: 16MB
Rotational Speed: 7200 RPM
Interface: Serial ATA 150
Features: SATA II, -NCQ [Native Command Queuing]

or

4 each Seagate 160GB Barracuda 7200.7 7200RPM SATA II with NCQ Hard Drive, Model ST3160827AS
Specifications:
Capacity: 160GB
Average Seek Time: 8.5 ms
Buffer: 8MB
Rotational Speed: 7200 RPM
Interface: Serial SATA 150
Features: Up to 20 percent performance improvement over previous SATA, 100 percent software compatible with existing PCs

I'm wondering about real world performance. The maxtor has a larger buffer but slower seek times. How do these newier NCQ drive stack up and perfom? Which would be better on a gaming system?

The Maxtors will probobly be a little faster due to their high data density and 16mb cache but the Seagates are solid drives with 5yr warranties while the Maxtors have 3yr warranties.

Wonder how quite the maxtors are. I have a few seagates and a couple older maxtors. The seagates are really nice quite compared to my 60g maxtors.
