I was wondering if there was a noticeable difference in different SDHC cards. I was going to pick up a D90 and don't want a card that is too slow to keep up with the D90. I was thinking a 16GB card would be good, any recommendations?

Personally I'd never go with a 16GB card for a camera. There's an old saying, "don't put all your eggs in one basket". Unless you're shooting a lot of video clips, I'd stick with 4GB or less. Just my 2c.

This is the one I'm using with it - 8gb Sandisk Extreme3 - working great so far - it holds a ton, off the top of my head I think it's over 1200 jpgs or around 500 raws. Haven't run into any speed issues so far - it should keep up with the camera buffer just fine.

I love my extreme III's. They're wicked fast. It does matter if you fill the buffer with continuous mode, you want fast cards.

I use a bunch of 4gb Sandisk Extreme III's - I'm also a fan of the "Don't put all you eggs in one basket" idea.

If you don't shoot continuously, then any of the lower cost class 6 cards will work absolutely fine for you. I just ordered two kingston, class6, 8gb cards for my D90.
I shoot RAWs mostly and the speed is fine for my use.

i concur!

I took a printed ad from B&H online into my local photography store and got SDHC generic cards 2GB a piece for like $11. Bought 4 of them and haven't had a single issue with any of them.

I got a pack of sandisk 4GB extreme iii from Adorama pretty cheap.

Adorama is great by the way, I chose the 7-10 day shipping option for $1.50. They shipped it out the same day I ordered and its arriving just as fast as UPS 3 day does. B&H was $5 more expensive on the memory and $8 more expensive on the shipping.
