I managed to get a scythe ninja plus cpu cooler for dirt cheap, but I have a few questions if anyone can help?
I have an antec 900 case, my cpu sits very close to a big 200mm fan, and a smaller 120mm fan. If I attach the scythe heatsink (without attaching its fan) it sits a few centimeters from the 200mm and a couple more from the 120mm fan. If I attach the fan, the only place it will fit is on the bottom side (facing down) blowing down onto my graphics card. I have an e8400 and I'd like to clock it to 4ghz.
My questions are:
-Will the big fans surrounding this heatsink work like attaching a fan to the heatsink? Would it be fine just using the heatsink, maybe even turn up the settings on the case fans? I don't care about the noise that much.
-If I should still attach the fan to the heatsink, will the fact that it blows onto the graphics card be a bad thing?
-Thinking about it, would the 120mm fan suck air through the fan up into the heatsink grill, and out the top (which would be perfect) or would is suck air from the heatsink grills and blow down? And is this reversible by simply flipping the fan onto its other side?
Thanks in advance, I hope that makes sense. If you need any help understanding what the hell I'm talking about, I can draw a diagram and upload it, or take some pictures if you give me a day.
