Alright, here's my dilemma, I want a quiet case that is also cool. I've looked at the Antec P-182, Lian Li PC-S80, and the CM Stacker 832.
The Antec I've pretty much dismissed out of hand, because I'd have to get a new power supply, cable management looks like a pain in the ass, I don't like the looks of it too terribly much, etc.
The Lian Li was a hard decision for me. I love the looks of the case, and I love the "silent features." I understand the cooling isn't so good though. So that pretty much kills that one.
Next up is the CM Stacker 832. I like this case quite a bit. I'm not crazy about the overall looks, but I admit it is growing on me. Overheating? What's that mean? The only thing I am worried about is noise, and having to clean those filters like everyday. That and having small animals sucked into that thing.
My though on the Stacker is to put 11 Scythe 8.7db fans in the case. Yes, it's more fans, but quiet fans, so I'm hoping it will be OK. They are only 33CFM, so I don't know if it's enough. My plan is to set all the front fans to pull in cool air, and all four side panel fans to push out the hot air. The back and top fans would also be exhaust.
Again, I want this case to be cool (overclocking) but quiet. I've been pulling my hair out over this for a few days, and I really just want someone to look over my thought process so I don't make some huge glaring error.
I've got a 6600 I'd like to push to at least 3.0ghz. (what's a good heatsink, fan?) I'd also like to push my DDR2 1066 memory to 4-4-4-12. I'm going to leave my video card alone though.
Thanks again for any input and comments.
