hey,ive got a mac clone computer and i have an ide hard drive that i want it to boot from instead of the hard drive in it, but the computer is a uses a scsi interface.I need a cheap solution if someone has an idea or suggestion.-thanks-

thanx but the pc i have is a mac and i was more leaning to a cable or something if any sutch thing.

No such SCSI <==> IDE adapter exists that I ever heard of.

You get to buy a Mac compatible PCI to IDE card for your box.

You Mac people make me chuckle. Yer gonna have to open the puter and put the card in.

Last time I checked, there is no IDE port on the back of a Mac so there is no reason to search for a cable.

If your puter has USB or 1394 you can get an external case for the hard drive.

belive me when i say this but im not a mac person in fact i want to shoot the hell out of it with a gun! but i just need some pictures off of it for my parents.in fact my family owns a grand total of 12 windows computers including the non-working ones.

nice ignorance of macs there.

My old B&W G3 will boot from an IDE hard drive... after I unplug the SCSI (6GB) hard drive. For some dumb reason it gives the unknown boot icon every time I start it up. I've already done all the NV-RAM clearing. It also won't recognize > 32GB without errors, so I jumper limited the drive (seagate 40GB) to 32GB. Piece o' junk.
