SCSI SCA rack swap question

I have a quick question for you guys...

We currently have two five disk SCA racks here that house 5 RAID 1 arrays for the database server. The racks are Enlight 8721, but they're an older model. Currently, one decides to beep at us once in a while and the power LED flashes. The manual says that means the voltage to the rack is fluctuating outside of it's normal thresholds, so we've purchased two newer 8721 racks to replace the ones that are currently in use.

If we swap the SCA racks, we shouldn't have to worry about losing any information since the array information is stored on the drives, but I'm not totally sure that would be the case. I won't lose any data or array information when we swap, correct?
 
Correct.
You *should* not loose any data. The racks are just phyical enclosures for the drives, they don't hold any data that could be lost by swapping them out.

I'm just worried that when we change them out the ID's will flip around or some such shit...that would end up being more work for us than what's really needed.

I'll post tomorrow after we try it. :)
 
ID's can get changed around, that shouldn't be an issue though.
Most controllers write data about the array the drive belongs in to the drive. So you can move them around with out hurting anything.
