I have a few servers that I manage remotely, and they all have a SCSI Raid setup on them. I have had problems before where one raid setup or hard drive in the raid goes down, and I have to send someone out to find out what the problem is, a few times now the hardware has been toast because of late notification of whats wrong. I am looking for either a piece of hardware or software that will "phone home" through almost any means and send me a message as soon as a problem is detected.

What kind of Server / Card are you using?
Almost all Dell PERC's, Compaq/HP SmartArray's will send out SNMP traps if something goes wrong.
Enable SNMP on the server, then setup a Dell IT Assistant or HP Insite Manager machine to collect the traps.

Ohh.. hmm.. they're all remote machines? Well, the PERC's should beep like crazy and alert someone. There has to be someway to set OpenMange / ArrayManager to alert you. Do you have all the extra array management software installed?

Also all the Proliants I have will send a page in the event of a failure (if you have a modem in the system) check your RAID software, any decent one should let you set some kind of notification up.
