I just got a 22inch monitor and I notice when im browsing at 1680x1050 I get lag while browsing. Pages take longer to load and when scrolling it lags for a little bit. I set the resolution to 1024x768 and my browser runs alot smoother. I installed the latest drivers on the video cards so I doubt thats it. I got a very low end geforce 7300gt. Is it possible I need a better video card just for browsing?

mobster, make sure your video card is not being hindered somehow: make sure you're not running in PCI-E x1 mode (this can be verified with CPU-Z in the Mainboard tab). Also make sure your driver is installed properly... go to the device manager and look in the driver tab of your video card properties and make sure you're not using the crappy default Windows/Microsoft driver.

Im not sure what the prob is but I know he doesnt need a better video card to browse webpages.

It's not about whats on the screen, it's about the resolution... my old machine I use as a file server lags when I have it set to 1680x1050, so don't tell me it's not possible.

are you freaking serious? even integrated video can browse webpages at 1680x1050 so yes I am saying its NOT possible. its laughable to think that a 7300gt cant even browse webpages at ANY resolution.

What pc do you have?

you need to post system specs.... I am going with a VGA/CPU issue.

and yeah, it could very well be the VGA, it is the resolution that is giving it a hard time. the fact that it is happening on a web page is immaterial, I bet if you opened up a long document with a few pics in word you would have the same result when you scroll quickly.

I had similar problems that were solved by updating the monitor drivers try that.
