Screen Problem

Recently built my first computer. Everything was running smooth at first, until I started getting random screens like this

The screen would shuffle through images like this then would completely black out.

Music and videos still play in the background, so im guessing its something to do with the GPU installation.
The computer powers down correctly while blacked out also.

Is there anything I can do to try to fix this problem? I only bought the parts less than a month ago.

but it happens randomly.
Im on the computer now and its running fine, yesterday I played Rift for 6h and it was perfect, but this morning it happened after watching 20m of a 720p Movie

I'd double check all the connections, pull off the DVI cables and make sure none of the pins are bent/damaged then put them back on. Ensure they have a good connection. I'd also double check the GPU, make sure it's full seated in the PCIe slot and not loose. (Tug on it while it's secure, it shouldn't move much, then apply pressure to ensure your tugging didn't pull it out a tad)

If you have a second monitor to use, try using that monitor next time it does happen. Assuming the screen goes black and doesn't come back until you reboot the rig. Just swap out the monitors and see if the screen comes back, if it doesn't you have a GPU problem.

I'm betting you have a gpu problem as well. I had a card start doing that, pulled it out and it had a blown cap.

Re-installed the GPU and placed it in firmly etc...still getting the screen problems.

One thing I noticed though which may change the problem to not only the GPU.

When i reboot the computer, I enter my log in details, then as it loads, the screen goes completely black...but there is no sound to indicate correct logging in...which normally happens when I log in and there is no screen problem.
If the GPU didnt come with a warranty on purchase, but i still have the entire bundles receipt, is there any way that I can exchange it or get a refund? or would that not be possible?
