I never have this problem before. In the old days I have 2 x 19" monitor, and I don't have any problem finding my mouse pointer. But now I have 2 x 30", the screens are so big that some times I can't find my mouse. and I have this utility that generates a circle to try to show me where the mouse is. But it's not that good.

Is there a software that points a big arrow as to where my mouse is or some other software that can show me where the mouse is.

Now thats something new. lol
Ive come across no other software to do that other than the default. Finding the mouse cursor usually isnt that difficult. Maybe you need to use a larger cursor, or perhaps an animated one.

Lol, i am losing my mouse lots lately too. Would be cool if there was a program that when you lift your mouse ( or something ), that it would increase the size of the pointer to a size you set at a earlier time, so you would know where the damn thing went Lol.

did you try to change the pointer to larger version in the mouse settings?

doesnt windows have an option to have a circle flash around the mouse when you spam the ctrl key?

it's not the size of the mouse. It's the location of it. let's say it's 5X bigger. I still can't find it because the mouse could be at another screen. So it's not because it's too small that I can't find it. It's the large size of these 2 screens that the mouse is far, far away.

To make things worse, I may have money for a 3rd screen, a 65" Sharp as my 3rd monitor, but I don't plan to turn it on all the time, although the computer will still detect it, so I don't know what's going to happen

The proper solution to this is a mix of software and one of those "fancy" mice (like my trusty MX510) that have several extra buttons. We just need software that attaches button 6 (or something like that) to the size of the cursor. Press and hold for a really big bright green flashing cursor so you can find it, click to toggle the cursor on and off (let's face it, sometimes you wish the mouse pointer would just go away), and of course it would end up in normal cursor mode after holding the button down for more than a 10th of a second or two and releasing it.

I'm sorry, but why would you use 3 huge screens all at once like this? Unless you're sitting like 10 feet away you wouldnt really be able to see across all of them.

(This assumes you use Vista)

Go to Control Panel -> Mouse -> Pointer Options and check the bottom option. It will draw a circle around the cursor when you press CTRL.

Check out the Accessibility and the Mouse properties windows in the control panel it'll give you some options to help find your mouse.

Now that's very narrow minded computer thinking for someone who is 2[H]4 status :p ! I can think of two reasons right off the top of my head:

1. Graphics production - Example: Web Developers may be using Illustrator, Photoshop ... all at the same time may want each app to have its own screen.

2. Music Production - I'm a music producer myself and I can't stress enough how much a multi-screen setup helps. The abillity to have ProTools, Reason, AND Recycle EACH on their own screen would be unbelievable. I run two screen and it helps so much.

I find that minimizing and maximizing half your work day really compromise your efficiency. Anyways, didn't mean to bash you but I gotta defend the multi-screen users.

I got this issue already with two 20" screens at 1600x1200 :D

Frantically moving the mouse helps me find the pointer ;)

Just keep clicking the left or right button until something interesting catches your attention.

I like this idea the best. Is there a camera shot for this green arrow demo? who makes the MX510? Does it c/w wire or is it only wireless?

I have 2 x 30" right in front of me, as I need to open 4 application at all time. So 1280x1024 per application, it significantly increase my productivity and save me about 2 hr. per day on work.

The 3rd screen, as plan but not yet purchase is to watch equity charts thru out the day, about 10 ft. from my chair

We had a similar problem at work with our test stations that had two 24" widescreens. The application suite used opened up a zillion windows and it was very easy to lose the mouse icon. Eventually somebody changed it so the mouse icon would grow about 5 times larger when it was hovering over bare desktop.

Try Stardock's cursorXP. The best thing is that it uses pngs instead of .curs to display mouse pointers. the cursor package is just a zip file.

what's the name of this software? Although I still prefer a green arrow on both screen pointing to the direction of the cursor

control panel/mouse/pointer options/check off show location of pointer when i press the CTRL key, as mentioned in post #5
