Screen goes black after splash screen

I recently installed latest nVidia graphics drivers on my computer and now whenever I boot the screen goes to black after the windows loading screen. I can boot into safe mode and the device manager has the correct version listed. Uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers a couple times now and tried reseating the card but still goes to a black screen.

Abit IP35 Pro
nVidia 9800 GTX

Which do you mean? The power cord to the computer and monitor work fine and the 6-pin going into the card comes straight out of the PSU so it's also working to the best of my knowledge.
