I recently had some computer issues with my computer hard booting randomly and have since upgraded to what you see in the sig.

Now that my computer doesn't crash I'm trying to dial in my GPU OC. I get straight crashes at +240 so I was on +230 for a day of gaming with no issues. However today my screens randomly went a solid colour on the entire screen except for maybe a 1/2" at the top and flashed. I waited a bit to see if the display driver would crash and reset, but it didn't. Everything was still running in the background, my music and game did not crash. The only way to fix it is to reset the PC.

I've gone down another 10 to +220, but I'm wondering if anyone has seen this kind of issue before (since I haven't) or had any thoughts.

EDIT: Just updated my sig, but it didn't proactively show it on this post, here are specs:
4770k @ 4.2 | 780 Ti @ +220/200 | 16GB GSkill Sniper | Asus VI Hero | QX2710 + 2x Syncmaster P2370 | Das Ultimate S

To the OP, have you done any voltage bumps at all? Also how are your temps on the card at load? It looks like you are +220 to GPU and +200 to memory? I would try to bring the memory to stock and see how stable things are. You are essentially doing two overclocks at once, the GPU and the memory so see which one is causing instability.

I'm using PrecisionX and have bumped it up the .75mv it allows, but it rarely ever hits the full 1.2v though, even at load. Temps stay around 73c max, and yeah 220 core and 200 mem.

I'll try disabling the memory overclock, it's not really needed after all (i.e virtually no real world benefit), and leave it a few days to see if it's 100% stable.

Also, when overclocking lots of weird things can happen, and some games will tax your cards overclock more than others, even when the game doesn't seem as demanding, so even a seemingly stable overclock can crash on certain applications.

Yeah it's weird because I've played the same games the last day or two for quite a while and it took over a day to show an error, but I suppose that's how it goes with overclocking. I've seen driver and game crashes from OCs too far, this screen flickering and such is new to me so wanted to ensure it wasn't anything to be worried about. Sometimes specific issues are caused by specific things, couldn't find anything on Google so figured I'd ask here.

If your pc is crashing and your screen is turning weird colors after doping 500 dollars on a new card just seems idiotic...your trying to tell me your card cant handle the games your playing without overclocking it?

1. I wish it was only $500.
2. I dipped to 55 FPS in BF4, once.

Enjoy your expensive card my friend....overclocking it till you get artifacts and weird screens will just lead to a premature early failure
dipping once to 55fps is hardly worth loosing sleep over.....i think your letting ocd get the better of you and it could very well be a cpu bottle neck theirs nothing you can do about..

1. If your not using window 8.1 64bit i suggest you give it a try...at least the demo version for starts

2. download a core parking program and disable core parking....its defiantly won't hurt...and it might (fix) your frame dips

3. I'm using a 200 dollar xfx7970 and average 75fps and it doesn't really bother me i get dips much lower than your getting according to fraps when i benchmark (i suspect the worst of the dips im getting are when my vehicle gets destroyed...so im already dead i think anyway...so it doesn't bother me)
