I'm using the most recent version of VMWare Player and the new Windows 8 Preview. Objects on the Windows 8 desktop don't appear until I mouse over them. Do I need to change drivers or fix some system setting? The Windows 8 desktop does not seem to have the same issues, only in the new home screen.

My Windows 7 VMs function just fine...

I have allocated 4GB RAM and 2 processor cores to the VM.

PC Specs:

Intel Core i7 3770
16 GB DDR 3
MSI Z77A-GD65 Motherboard
EVGA GeForce GTX670

Any ideas?

Not a problem. For some reason VMware tools never installs the right driver with Server 2008 R2 and I'm assuming the Win8 versions. I usually just go to update driver on the standard vga adapter then navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\VMware\Drivers\ and then install the wddm video driver from there and things work swimmingly.
