Hi All,

My Samsung 305T monitor started acting really weird today. I looks like everything is seen through a very fine screen door and the colors look like they are at a reduced bit depth as there are banding effects in gradients. Also on some screens there is a off color green blue subtle flicker in the shadow areas. I plan to send this off to samsung, but could it be my dual link DVI cable? I don't have another dual link cable, but could go buy one. I have tried the monitor with two different PCs so it is either the monitor or the cable. Good news is it is still in warranty. Bad news is the loss of monitor for peak gaming days!! ACK~

It just went back to normal, any thoughts on the cause? Should I send it in? I don't want them to say it is fine and ship it right back.

I re-cycled power and the problem is back! Darnit! This is completely intermittent.

They don't know anything :)

They will let me RMA my monitor with free shipping and repair. The crazy thing is the monitor is back to working perfectly all night tonight. I don't know if I should send it in or wait until it breaks again. I don't want them to say they can't fix it and give me a 27" consumer monitor. They don't make 30" displays anymore.

I think I have encountered the problem you're talking about, what I remember is that suddenly my desktop looked like it was switched to 16bit instead of 32bit. Turned out to be a software error instead of hardware.

Ya, slowly failing, it is getting worse now.

It is definatly not software as i have trid it attached to another PC and had the same issue.

Have you tried another dual link DVI cable?

I have no experience in this, but I wonder what a 30" display which required dual link would look like if there was a wiring/pin problem with one of the channels.

It's worth a shot, right?
