Scratch removal?

Today I wiped my screen with the edge of my shirt sleeve to wipe a smudge. I didn't notice that there was something on my shirt (i was in the garage, i guess i got hard grouty substance on my sleeve without noticing.)

Now I have hairline sctratch streaks on my monitor. How can I get rid of this? If it matters at all, it's a Viewsonic P95f+.

Can you feel it? If you can feel the scratch, then I wouldn't hold out too much hope of getting them out without unreasonably expensive means, which would probably require specialized tools. If you can't feel it, there might still be hope...There are certain repair kits available designed for car windshields that I know of....I don't know the exact price, there are different types up to commercial grade. There is also something called Scratch-X, but it is primarily intended for taking scratches off the finish of a car...it might be of some value, especially if you could test it out on an inconspicuous area first (kidding). An auto glass shop might be of assistance also...

See if you can get them out with soap and elbow grease....many times there were marks and streaks that appeared to be scratches that would never go away but they had just been a bit stubborn. No windex!

If I pass my finger on it, it doesn't feel as smooth as the non-scratched area.
If I pas my fingernail on it, in can feel it a little bit.

I hope it's not an LCD like mine. It would be difficult scrubbing then. Like Synful said: No Windex and No Alcohol.

probably you scratched the anti-glare coating.

This happened to me once on accident. It's a hole or scratch in the Anti Glare coating, and unless you use a powerful cleaner to remove ALL of the Anti Glare (bad move), then you have to live with it.
