Scratch Disk - Photoshop

Anyone find its better to have the scratch partition the first partition on the drive? I will be reinstalling my OS so I will be re-partitioning the drive. My scratch is at the end of the drive, but I haven't noticed any real slow downs.

Get the RAMdisk mentioned in the other thread, set up your 4GB as 2GB for system use with a 2GB RAMdisk and point Photoshop to that 2GB RAMdisk as a a scratchdisk. Confused yet? Maybe...

Photoshop will fly with that configuration. Without it, Photoshop will choke on the slow hard drive (even a Raptor pales in comparison to a RAMdisk) each and every time.

RAMdisks... the best way to use lots of RAM efficiently, and anyone that says otherwise simply doesn't know Jack Shit about it. :p
