Hello everyone
I am in the process of building a case from scratch. The case is similar to a MountainMods cube. My case is 24" x 24" x 25" tall. It is divided into Two interior chambers, an upper and a lower. The upper chamber will be the computer section. The lower will be for water cooling, radiators and pumps etc. Construction materials are Aluminum skins, and internal supports. Plywood floors.
For the upper [computer] chamber I plan on 3 intake fans on the front, located at the bottom of the upper chamber. Three exhaust fans on the back, located at the top of the upper chamber. The fans will have no grills, or filters. These fans will be for moving air through the case and not mounted on a CPU cooler etc. I will be using a fan controller.
I have been doing a ton of reading on fans and think I'm farther away from a decision now, then when I started researching. Since I am scratch building, I can choose 120mm or 140mm fans. In 120mm size I have been leaning toward Gentle Typhoon Ap-15's, or Noctua NF-S12B FLX or NF-P12
In 140mm I've been leaning toward NoiseBlocker-Blacknoise Silent Pro 140mm or Noctua NF-P14 FLX or Thermalright TY-140.
The fans I listed are just some I have been reading about and not intended to mean those are the only fans I will choose from
Now to my questions.
Since I am scratch building and can use either, is 120mm or 140mm a better choice?
Which fans would be the best choice for air flow to noise? [not exclusive to the ones I listed]
Is three intake and three exhaust the best set-up?
Thanks in advance.
