Wanted to upgrade my 5400RPM Fujitsu 320GB to a WD Scorpio Black 750GB drive today but the Scorpio spits out all sorts of errors on format and basically throws more tantrums than a spoiled toddler. Most disappointed that I'll have to RMA this drive and use an older Momentus 320GB instead. Has anyone else experienced DOA on these drives? Is it worth trying again?

You got a bad drive. It happens, life goes on. Did you just get it and did it come from Newegg by any chance?

Got it Wednesday from DirectCanada. RMA has been approved so back it goes. Just wondering if it's a common thing with these super dense platter drives. Its going in a Mac mini which is a pain to open so it's not something I relish doing more than I have to but **** happens.

Nope, nothing about the drives as a class, you just got a bad one.
