So last week my family and I went on a trip to St Lucia (an island in the Caribbean). What a wonderful place. The main language is English and everyone is really freindly. Definitely have to go back. I got hundreds of photos while I was there. Thought I'd share some as I process them.

This was taken from the airplane as we were flying in. It is a volcano on a neighbouring island:

The first night there a steel drum band was performing:

I was up every morning at 5am so you can expect quite a few sunrise photos:

Now here is a character!

They call this their "drive through volcano":

On Thursday, we went for a rainforest hike. Still quite a few images to process from that but here are the first two:

to be continued...

Where's the bugs??! lol

The Rasta guy giving the peace sign is awesome, the bone grafitti in the background adds to the shot too; nice capture :)

Thanks. No bugs this time of year - gotta be there in rainy season they say. So I had to settle with crabs and lizards. I'm going to try to do some of those today

Love St. Lucia, we went there for our honeymoon and need to get back there soon. Where did you end up staying?

We were at the Cocconut Bay Resort in Vieux Fort.

We are definetely going back. If not next year then certainly the year after. Going to rent a motorcycle next time and tour myself about the island. The guided tours are nice but they don't stop often or long enough for my liking.

This fellow - I think he said his name was "Rolf" - was out combing the beach most mornings. He would offer to climb trees for me to find "amphibians" but never found one or at least I didn't see it, anyhow.

Once the sun goes down the beach is "crawling" with these guys so I spent quite a bit of time chasing them around. They are a little more skittish and quite a bit faster than most insects:

One evening while on my "crab hunt", I looked up to see this:

Wow - awesome shots as always, Rage! Can't wait to see more.

Now I really want to go to this place.
