I picked up one of these cases and it has a pair of PWS-902-1R power supplies in it. Good lord, they howl like a banshee even at idle. Are there any newer/quieter replacements?
 
Can the overall power supply be swapped out for a standard form factor or some other SM that does not have/use 40mm fans?
 
these are my tests I have the same case with different model SM PSU's


The stock PWS-902-1R - 67db from a foot away
PWS-721P-1R - gold rated 59db from a foot away
PWS-920P-1R- planium rated 57db from a foot away

The PWS-920P-1R is quiet enough its not bad at all.

If you want to use a standard form factor you would have to do some modifications. But people have done it.
 
I could not find the 501p for a decent price anywhere. the 721p and the 920p I was able to find for 45$ on ebay that 501 was around 200$
