Umm i recently moved to a new apartment and i want to have cable internet... there is a deal going on but i dont wanna purchase a modem i have 2 cable modems from along time ago from people who left them for me. The one im considering is the Motorola Surfboard 3100 and i was wondering if there is any cons to it vs the Motorola Surfboard 5100 the new one that they give out that cost 89.95 or something like that... SO is it worth it to just use the free one or buy the new one..? Thanks alot

i have the sb4200 so use the 5100 because its faster from what i've heard. and if your going to do some networking, it will support more then 32 people on network. and the 3100 is OLD, use something new and better.
