So i have been waiting for SB to come out and now thats its finally here im confused :)

I want to build a desktop, mainly for editing pictures, then some gaming action then maybe some video stuff.

The stuff i have been reading is that the 2600k has the best graphics built on board and can transcode video much faster than other things, like 2-5x.

But to be able to use that i would be limited to the h67 chipset, whihc i dont plan to overclock so not a big deal.

Also i only plan to go with 1 graphics card i think a gtx 470, so only having 1 pcix 16 is no biggy.

Or should i not worry about it and just go the p67?

I just saw a review (can't remember where) on the built in transcoding capabilities. The hardware is faster but at a loss of quality. It looks like the software path was the highest quality in most (and at parity in the rest) tests so if that is a concern I wouldn't worry about using the built in hardware to transcode. I'm also pretty sure there are only one or two apps out there that can use the transcoding hardware so unless you want to use one of them it's a moot point. Even transcoding a blu-ray at near perfect quality only takes 3-6hrs on a quad core, unless you desperately need things done quick I would stick with a software transcoder (more options too).

wrong post, cant figure out how to delete this...lol 1 day noob here
