Anyone have any suggestions for nice looking chipset heatsinks/fans for use on an I945GZ based board? Stock GigaByte ones are working fine but I am doing my first windowed system so I need something that is fuxin 1337! :D

Here's a pic of the POS GigaByte board.

Thanks

Hmm, maybe a Noctua NC-U6 on the Northpole if I can get it to fit in my SFF case. It might, I'm doing a bunch of hacks to it.

That cooler looks good. It's a good idea you're upgrading it too cause we use that board at work in some of our systems and they have serious problems with the Northbridge overheating. The BIOS won't run the system fans at their rated speed either, regardless of what temperatures it reaches so we had to run all the fans off of the power supply molex connectors instead of the motherboard fan ports to keep the things from overheating.

Heh. I've never really checked the NB temp, I just assumed it was fine because my system has been so stable and my P4 stays @ under 28C (20 now at idle) almost all the time.

It looks like that Noctua will definitely fit with just a little hacking to the aluminum in the case. Now I just need to find something cool for the SB.
