How do I get the SB Live Platinum to work when I dont have the original CDs?

if you dont have the original, you have a couple options...

find a friend who has one

order it from creative customer service.

all they have on their website are driver updates, not full driver packages.

Try to download, or get it from a friend. See if a local computer shop can sell you one.

you CAN download full driver packs from creative for the sb live 5.1, what you can not get is the software (remote center, wave studio etc.)

Sound blaster -> 16bit ->sblive 5.1
Under drivers, download and install the "livedrvuni-pack"
should be like 20mb

Right, and it works just fine. Most of the other stuff that came with the retail package is junk, except that they did include a nice, but lite, version of Sound Forge. It's a trick to get the extras found on the CDs to install on XP anyway...if that is your os.
