sb audigy 2 problems

I have a sb audigy 2 installed and I only use headphones currently (sennheiser pc150) and just today all of the sudden I'm hearing sound as if the audio properties were set on "Desktop Stereo Speakers".......but they aren't! My pc is still set for "Stereo Headphones". I've tried reinstalling the drivers, and changing settings in the control panel, but no matter what I do they are stuck on desktop stereo speaker settings. Any help is appreciated.

edit: well I rolled back my audio driver (to the same ones!) and that fixed it somehow.....weird.
