Hi,
is there any kind of specific cable i would want to buy for sata 2 3.0gbs.. or are they all the same?
 
And in case you hadn't heard, it doesn't matter whether you get 1.5 or 3.0 gbps. Your drive won't even hit 100 MB/s except in burst transfer rate (which only happen for a small fraction of a second) so limiting yourself to 150 MB/s or 300 won't make any measurable difference.

 
Yep all SATA cables are capable of 1.5 and 3.0gbps operation. In fact, we've been using standard cheap-o SATA cables to run our 3.0gbps SAS drives without an issue.
 
Yeah its the same thing... just marketing hype.
