Well, Im currently running a 74gb raptor. I have two issues pertaining to it...

1) Since overclocking my RAM from 200 to 240, I now get a message notifying me of my SATA setup.... this issue might not be relevant to my overclock or a tRas violation, but nonetheless....

2) I didn't notice I plugged my SATA cable into the #4 SATA slot. For OCD purposes, and the sake of new hard drives, I'd like to move this to #1, or atleast #3. Can I simply do this without losing data?

Athlon64 3000+ @ 2.4GHz
Corsair XMS XL 2-2-2-5 RAM 512mb

Also... after this overclock, I notice my boot times actually increased... now it takes the windows xp bar 1 1/2 times across to boot, as opposed to half way across the bar once to boot.

Not sure about your board, but my MSI has two variations on the SATA sockets. 1 and 2 are normal, but 3 and 4 are locked into PCI buss speed. That is if I lock my PCI at 66 then SATA 3 and 4 will hold at 66, thus stopping errors.

Might want to see if your board has that.

Alright, Im gonna hit up DFI-Street, but can you explain, or link me to an explanation, to the difference of using the PCI bus-speed on SATA, and regular SATA? Can I simply move the cable to the #1 controller in either case? Thanks

just move the cable to slot three, install the SATA drivers for that controller and you will be happy like a school girl at a BSB concert.
 
lol, sounds good... Where would one obtain these SATA drivers if they didn't come with my mobo... I have RAID driver which came with it... So, if this isn't required, hopping to SATA slot 3 will cure my overclock problem perhaps?

Installing the raid drivers will install the SATA drivers. you can also check the motherboard's website.
