Sata speed question

Hi everyone, is there any way to tell if my drive is running at Sata 1.5 speeds or Sata2 3.0 speeds from within Windows? My friend just got a new drive and mentioned a jumper for switching between 1.5 and 3.0 and I was not aware of it. Since it's hard for me to see without taking the drive out I want to know if I can determine if my two drives are running at or near Sata2 speeds. I have a Samsung Spinpoint 200gb Sata2 drive as my primary drive and a Maxtor 300gb (not sure if it's rated for 1.5 or 3.0) for backup. Thanks for any feedback.

BTW, at this point it makes no difference. Maybe in a few years when SATA HDDs can do over 150MB/sec. But right now, it doesn't matter.

Yes, if you go to Device Manager/IDE ATA Controllers, you should see your SATA channel (provided you installed your chipset ATA drivers) and it will tell you if you are running at SATA 1 or SATA 2. It's also got a nifty little quick speed test button there too!

This is only with the nV drivers, afaik. If he's on an Intel system, it won't have that.
