SATA recognized too small

Just hooked up 2 new drivers to a gigabyte ds3

WD SATA 250 3.0gb/s
WD SATA 500 3.0.gb/s

Both drives are properly recognized by the system; however, they are only seen has 124gb drives in Windows (Disk Management)

I've been using IDE for long time and I'm just pickin up the SATA. Any help appreciated.

That was my current avenue, SP updates. I'm updating now. Hopefully that'll fix.

Applying the service packs after the initial os install will only allow you to access the extra space as another partition (unless you use something like partition magic). If you want to have all that space to use as one partition, you'll need to slipstream SP1 (or SP2) in with your exisiting XP disk and reinstall the OS.


Then again...if you are using these drives as storage, then just delete the partitions you have now and repartition the drives after you install the SP
